Privacy contact

For a privacy request, identify the account, message or submission involved and the action you want us to consider. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the TVL Health website operated as part of The Viral Lines. It covers information processed through public pages, reader and contributor accounts, article-submission tools and contact forms.

A third-party website, social network, WhatsApp service or embedded platform has its own privacy practices. Review that provider’s policy before giving it information.

Information we may collect

Account information

Name, username, email, phone number, profile details, account status and authentication records, including one-way password hashes rather than readable passwords.

Contributor material

Article drafts, images, bylines, source details, disclosures and communication about a submission.

Contact information

Name, email, optional phone number, enquiry type, message and the time it was submitted.

Technical information

IP address, browser or device details, requested pages, timestamps, referring pages, error records and security logs generated by servers or analytics tools.

Do not send medical records, government identity documents or other highly sensitive information through the general contact form.

How information may be used

  • Provide, secure and troubleshoot the website and account features.
  • Review, edit, attribute and administer contributor submissions.
  • Reply to enquiries, correction reports, privacy requests and partnership messages.
  • Measure aggregate readership and improve navigation, performance and content decisions.
  • Detect abuse, enforce site terms, preserve records and meet lawful obligations.

Sessions, cookies and analytics

The site uses a server-side session cookie for functions such as sign-in and form security. Public pages also load Google Analytics with IP-anonymisation requested in the site configuration. Analytics behaviour can vary by browser, region and provider settings.

Cookies or similar identifiers may therefore be set or read by TVL Health and Google. You can block or delete them using browser controls, although blocking the essential session cookie can prevent sign-in and protected forms from working.

When information may be shared

Information may be handled by hosting, email, analytics, security and technical service providers that support the site. It may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, during a legitimate business reorganisation, or with your direction or consent.

Public contributor content, including a byline and profile information chosen for publication, can be seen and copied by anyone. Avoid including private information in an article or profile.

Retention and security

We aim to keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, record-keeping, dispute handling, security or legal requirements. Publication archives and associated attribution may remain available for editorial integrity.

We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a web publication, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and privacy requests

Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights to ask about, access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent. These rights can have legal exceptions, including freedom of expression, public-interest archiving and record-keeping duties.

  • Use account settings for information you can update directly.
  • Use browser controls to manage cookies and analytics identifiers.
  • Select “Privacy request” on the contact form and describe the request clearly.
  • Include enough information for us to locate the relevant account or record without sending unnecessary sensitive data.

Children and international processing

TVL Health is a general-audience publication and is not designed to collect personal information from young children. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information can contact us for review.

Readers are worldwide, while our offices and primary operations are in India. Service providers may process information in other locations under their own infrastructure and applicable safeguards.

Policy changes and contact

We may update this policy when site features, providers or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version.

Privacy enquiries can be sent through the contact page, by email or by phone. We may request reasonable verification before disclosing or changing account information.
